Similar problem: 56-60# tie plates are very hard to come by.
The WW&F stub switch (at "Top of the Mountain") that Stewart is referencing that needs water occasionally to fight expansion is due to be converted to a point switch in the coming weeks. (Don't worry - this is NOT the iconic 3-way stub in Sheepscot yard - that switch works perfectly and is not subject to rail creep.) When the track layout at Top of the Mountain was conceived, we thought the crossover switch would be temporary - so we used stub switches to make it's removal real easy. But, we've come to appreciate having a passing siding at that location, so the stubs will be replaced.
That said, we ARE looking for 60# rail anchors and 56# tie plates for the Mountain grade and Trout Brook Bridge, respectively. Any leads (other than "new" or "make your own" - both of these are actively being pursued) on either would be appreciated.
