I am following up on some more rumors of surviving Nevada-California-Oregon passenger and freight cars. Hoping some folks out there may have some info....
N-C-O combination car 1 - reportedly built into a house in Alturas, CA. Now, this is not referring to N-C-O 72 or 22. Those are baggage cars and were not built into houses. This rumor seems to refer to the final N-C-O #1 which may have been Sierra Valley and Mohawk #1.
N-C-O reefer 501 - reportedly used for storage on a ranch near Likely, CA
N-C-O caboose 1 - reportedly located on a ranch near Hot Springs, CA I was only told the town was Hot Springs. Do not know if this means California Hot Springs or Desert Hot Springs or some other location.
N-C-O boxcar 536, ex-Florence and Cripple Creek - located at Shasta Community College
And there are supposed to be some ex-F&CC, ex-N-C-O, ex-PCRy boxcars around San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria. Any ideas there?
Thank you!
