493 and her 14-car train headed on to the Animas River bridge and the Silverton wye
I followed the train and met Jerry Day on the Animas River bridge where I learned about the vandalism event, that he presumably heard about on his scanner. Jerry planned to get a shot of the returning train on the bridge while I decided on some views of the first train in (almost) Silverton. By the time I got to the Hwy 550 view pull out, 493 had backed the train into the wye and the crew was dismantling the wooden Clearance frame work.
The Clearance frame work was gone. The adjacent trailer camp looked strangely empty -Covid empty- probably as a result of non-residents being threatened with a 5,000 dollar fine if they stepped out of their car ( two friends decided NOT to go into the grocery store for a sandwich after being met by the sherriff on pulling up outside the store)
493 starting her run back to Rockwood
