Such an event would have been covered in several newspapers.
Whatever paper is being published in Pueblo or Walsenberg would have archives.
Even the Rocky Mountain News or the Denver Post would have something on it.
Contact someone at the Rocky to see if they can guide you through the process of a search, but I'd think the Pueblo (Chieftain?) would be a great source, since it was closer.
