We've had a discussion about this locomotive a long long time ago both here and on another e-mail list I subscribe to, but to the best of my knowledge no one ever did say what happened to it. I do know that it was in a Sundance calendar in the mid-1990s, at least that's what I heard. I've never seen it personally though. I'll ask on the e-mail list and see what they say.
