Thanks Hoss, I am not sure how I feel when folks say my photos look like paintings. I know it is usually a compliment, but I was not trying to make it look like a painting.
It is just early morning (830) January light coming over the mountains on the east side of the Animas. Did a bit of adjustments of the shadows and highlights, tweak the contrast a bit. Some people call it image manipulation or "Photoshopping," but I do not agree. Years ago (1967) I attended an Ansel Adams workshop in Carmel, CA and everything I do in Photoshop is the same things that he did in the darkroom.
eople have asked me if I thought Ansel would have done digital. I say that I am sure he would as he always taught that what he did in the darkroom was to make up for the lack of dynamic range in the films of that era. Can do a lot more in Photoshop than with PanX or PlusX.
