They were indeed a bargain, Josh -
The trains I rode in June, 1960 and October, 1962 cost $20 each for the three-day Alamosa-Silverton round trips. IIRC, inflation bumped the Fall, 1964 trip to $22, and the 1966 Kiwanis Kolor Karavan – the last of the three-day excursions – was an outrageous $25!!
