The Greer spikes were used by many railroads. It just so happens that it was made most famous for its use on the RGS. However as has been pointed out they were used on the Midland and on the D&RG.
They are more popularly known as Jeffrey spikes because of the story of E.T. Jeffrey ordering tr hem for the RGS and D&RG.
Ralph and all. We recently found a small cache of Greer spikes at the museum. So YES we still have some. We have yet to sort through them and set some aside for sale.
Here is a question. If you had your choice when buying would you prefer the spikes cleaned up of left disty and rusty?
