The work sessions can be great father-son bonding sessions. They are also a great way for a younger person to learn how to work with others. An experience that is hard to get in these times.
We've had some notable examples where a son of a volunteer starts helping out early on, and gets respect from those around them. Over the years that experience translates into great confidence in high school, college, and beyond. A son of a good friend got an excellent position with an east coast energy company out of college and continues to advance past others his age, I know another who got put on a flat-car decking project when he was 12 and 12 or so years later found himself managing a project to build new flatcars.
Seeing results and understanding how to work are invaluable for those in their teens. By all means when you are ready to bring your son, consult with our Work Session counselors to understand the best projects that you can work together on!
