Last 3' gauge train into Pueblo was in 1911. Biggest D&RG engines at the time were the 8 class 340 2-6+6-2 mallet type engines which had come from Alco in 1910 (#'s 1050-1057) (Later class L-62-340 3's 3300-3307) which at that time were being used on the West sides of Soldier Summit & Tennessee Pass. These had a total wheelbase (inc. tender) of 74' 8 1/4". Of the older classes it would seem the longest wheelbase (inc. tender) were the class 220 (C-48-220) engines of 1906 &1908 at 59' 5 1/4". I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Pueblo had an 85' TT at this time and that it was replaced within a very few years as larger engines began arriving.
D&RGW/RGS roster #11 (1923) lists a 100' TT at Pueblo. Given that Pueblo was the real start of the D&RG(W) mainline 1890's-1934 (IE: where it met it's owner, MP) I'd expect this one to also have been replaced before 1930 as still larger engines arrived.
Can anyone inform us as to the size of the current Pueblo TT?
