Not Depression Era exactly, but part of the equipment ordered during WWII.
The early Newfoundland Railway had "Cabin Cars" as opposed to typical cabeese. I've read somewhere that this allowed them to transport passengers on freight trains, on some of the lesser travelled lines. The variations in these cars will become more obvious in the following post. This first photo showing two Cabin Cars, was taken in Bishops Falls.
