Thanks, William. You've been a great help with your photographs of the 93 and other engines for comparison. Those ones you shared yesterday were perfect. I can't take much credit, as Jeff and Randy have prodded me along to try new things. I'm still working on the headlight lens numbers, but your latest images and consultation with Jeff have really put that into focus for me.
This is like the proverbial rabbit hole, in that the deeper and harder I look the more I find -- and the more I realize I don't know. It can be hard to balance this with my other duties, thus today is another day off spent in the shop. This will be a sort of work in process over many months on the engines and cars, I think. And I'm sure it will be an evolutionary thing combining D&S and D&RGW styles a bit. But then, the whole railroad is like that, right? And besides, change can be fun.
