Very nice photo!
At the left edge of the Humason Brook photo, at the end of a flatcar, is what seems to be a [cold?
] brakeman ...

The cars in use on the WW&F at this time only have hand brakes, so brakemen are needed. There is a project to add vacuum automatic brakes to equipment, but that is currently in the development phase.
