Hello!
I am really excited to share that another piece of D&RGW history has been rescued! Recently I completed the purchase of RPO #119 from the D&S and plan a full scale restoration of the piece at my home near Oxford, CO. Currently, the car sits in the South yard at the D&S and I have started interior cleaning and bracing to prepare the car for shipment to my house. The car is in EXCEEDINGLY rough shape. It will require practically a whole new roof, floor, and both top and bottom side sills on the Engineer's side, but the longer it sits the worse it gets. I'm most likely in over my head, but it will be quite the rewarding project when finished! For those on Facebook, I've started a page to share the progress titled "D&RGW Railroad Post Office Car #119" in case anyone is interested, but I will also post updates on The Forum as well! Below is a picture of what the car looks like as of a few days ago in the yard. Plans to move it soon are in progress, stay tuned!
Thank you all!
