Didn't want to hijack the question thread. Progress on 20 slowed to a crawl when we started running Polar express again. As does any shop work this time of year really.
That being said we were able to get some work done here and there. The tender brake rigging is complete and has been tested. The tender brake plumbing is nearly finished. We left off working on the retainer line and the mountain cock piping. Yet to finish is the plumbing to the triple valve and brake cylinder, mounting main reservoir and piping to operate a drag flanger. We also have the new coal boards installed and painted.
There is less progress on the locomotive but what has been done is very noticeable. The cab has its first coat of black, and we have started re-installing windows and fitting other components to the cab. Inside the cab much of the plumbing is mocked up for replacement or already replaced. Cab braces have been fitted and the interior is fully painted. We have received our last(fingers crossed)parts from Strasburg. These include new cylinder heads, brake fulcrums, and a new tender apron.
First coat of black paint, and you can see the coal boards on the tender.
This a poor photo but it shows the new apron.
