Re: C&T '04

From what we've seen so far, it looks like 484 is almost done. The firebox got some patches re-welded in, Staybolts that need replacing are nearly done.
The Drivers were turned and going back under the locomotive. Side rods were starting to be applied.
The tubes were tappered and ready for installation.
The 484's cab was rebuilt just before the fall.
Work is also under way for 488, although it was moved out of the shop for 489 to come in and get it ultrasound completed. I suspect once that is done 488 will be back in the shop for more work.
487 is in Antonito being torn down for ultrasound. I think mostly form 230 work as the running gear was rebuilt last winter.
All in all it does look good for 3 locomotives for 2004. The commission meeting is tomorrow in Santa Fe and I think Mark is going to give a status on the locomotive work so better and more up-to-date information should be available soon.
