Well, there have been people thinking about reviving portions of the right-of-way.

I have heard that there are some active thoughts for extending the trackage at Laws south for maybe a couple of miles. We will have to see what happens.
Laws is close to Bishop which is the major commercial town in the Owens Valley.

Bishop is the junction of two federal highway routes; but these are not highly traveled except for skiers or mountain bikers going to and from Mammoth Mountain ski resort and except for trucks moving goods from warehouses in the Reno area to Southern California.

The Owens Valley as well as other locations on the line are far away from any major population center.
