Decent article..thanks. I wouldn't swear to the 'sagging' boiler but the picture in the article is pretty much what I remember #7 to be when I visited the Heston Steam Show about 3-4 years back. The tender and associated trucks were just about fully restored. The rest of the engine was as pictured: no wood ordornments, flooring, or knobs in the cab; no bearing/gear packing - if it wasn't metal, it wasn't there due to the fire. The last I heard they were still investigating the start of the fire, under possible strange circumstances. I still make periodic inquiries on the possible relocation of the Shay back 'home' to the SVRR. I just receive a few laughs in return..
