The car was set up in its present configuration by the Georgetown Loop and used to fuel the Loop's steam locomotives until 2004. On the Loop, the oil was pumped out of the car into the locomotive's tender by a steam driven pump mounted on the tank car, steam being provided by the locomotive being fueled.

A shot of the car in Durango on October 11. The steam pump is gone and in its place is what looks to be an air powered pump.
