When there was a large group making the trip, the D&RGW would use the B1, B2, and B3 VIP train. If it was a small party, the B7 would be used as in this event The B-7 was on the rear of the first San Juan Express and the first Shavano.

PYEATT GIVES US THE ONCE OVER
President J.S. Pyeatt of the D&RGW was a Gunnison visitor this week, although few outside of railroad circles knew about it. Mr. Pyeatt came in on a special about 9:30 Tuesday evening, remaining on his private car for the night. Accompanying him were A.C. Shields, W.R. McPherson of Salida, chief oPf the Salida division.
The party made a trip to Baldwin in the early morning and in the afternoon took in the Crested Butte branch. Mr. Pyeatt was particularly enthralled over the beauty of Almont, which he declared was the loveliest spot he had seen. Indeed, he indicated intention of coming over for a fishing trip this coming season.
That evening, Mr Pyeatt took an auto trip up Pitkin way, the roadbed on the Rio Grande not being such as to tempt the special train. Early this morning, they went west, intending to run to Lake City during the forenoon and thence to Montrose.
