I don't know that I would call any narrow gauge locomotive "roomy". Even a k-37 when sitting you have plumbing to maneuver around.

I have run 18 several times, though not at the D&S. Its comfortable in the foreman's seat, but in the engineers seat you have the awkwardly placed Johnsonbar in the way. But as I said there is always something in the way.

I got a cab ride in 18 and she ran good, as I recall Bill Colley enjoyed running 18. I remember one of the D&S crew men telling me she seems to be more powerful than she is said to be.

When we ran her in Laws in 2017 you could tell she wanted to get up and go.

All in all I think she is a good loco, and enjoyable to run.
