Here is a short history:
White Mountain History: Profile & Franconia Notch
The P&FN was the only narrow gauge to operate in New Hampshire. Its main line was ~9.5 miles from Pierce Bridge/Bethlehem Junction (where it connected with the Concord & Montreal/B&M) to the Profile House hotel, with a short branch to Maplewood and Bethlehem as well as a stretch of dual gauge on the B&M Mount Washington Branch between Bethlehem Junction and Zealand Transfer, where it connected with the MEC Mountain Division. It was converted to standard gauge in 1896 and later became the Profile Branch of the B&M.
