Monday October 7 marked the end of the steam season on the Georgetown Loop RR. The final weekend of September and first weekend of October saw both 2-8-0 #111 and 2-8-0 #40 pulling trains up and down the valley through the cool mountain air and fall colors.
#111 pulled the 8-car Regular Excursion Train, with #40 handling a 7-car Extra Train to handle the heavy passenger demands. Record passenger counts were seen both weekends.
The railroad will continue operating into the fall and winter, featuring Oktoberfest, Haunted Mine Adventure, and Christmas Trains.
