Re: D&SNG Doghouse Project update

This is Randy Babcock, chief mechanical officer of the D&SNG. I wanted to chime in here with an official D&SNG response. To clarify, the D&SNG cannot accept, nor have we ever solicited, donations of any kind for its locomotive restoration projects, including the 493 doghouse. It is true William approached us about this endeavor, but unfortunately, there was some significant miscommunication regarding the scope and details of the project. Currently, the D&SNG cannot accept a doghouse donation. I apologize to anyone who supported this effort, as we do truly appreciate your interest in No. 493 and its restoration. Should time and budget allow in the future, we may install a doghouse of our own.
