Now, that is a good question from Earl. The Steam in The Rockies blurb states that Gerry Best inspected the builders plate on #8. Apparently there was a plate on the fireman's side that survived until the engine went to Plaster City but Earl is correct that it could not have been the original boiler from #42 in 1933 when the engine was sold. Thus that particular boiler was NEVER on the 42, only the builders plate was originally from the 42. VERY INTERESTING! and a wonderful insight from Earl.
