This locomotive is a real beauty!— an incredible restoration!
A little historic perspective— 168 last ran in 1936 when used on the Santa Fe Branch. It was being used for the filming of the “Texas Rangers” a 1936 movie starring Fred McMurray. The last of the T-12’s were taken out of regular service in 1933, and 168 was was briefly revived for this 1936 movie work. It was the last time168, or any T-12 would run on the D&RGW. All were scrapped but for 168 (given to Colorado Springs) and 169 (given to Alamosa).
This run yesterday was the first run of 168, or any T-12, since 1936!— 83 years ago!
Remarkable in so many ways! Thank you Stathi and crew!
