Back in the days of SRR/NS steam program trips, they had toilets flushing directly onto the ties. Some foamers who knew the routes really well rejoiced in dumping on specific places. I knew a guy who would ride
any train on one route in GA, to take a dump in the dumper, and then 'bomb' a certain bridge where he knew people were underneath fishing on any given clear day. He'd cackle later about the 'brown shower' he'd given the people underneath the train/bridge.
Others would dump when the train was off-loading people, then jump out of the bathroom fast enough to avoid getting caught by the car hosts (who often got chewed out by someone when that happened for not keeping an eye out). Some reveled in letting fly on photo run-bys as well to somehow 'punish' someone on the photo line that they didn't like, but that bordered on psychotic behavior, as I saw it.
When I'd railfan trains in the 80s and 90s, I always made sure to give a very wide berth to any excursion trains for that reason, as well as any MOW trains as I always assumed they had toilets like that as well. Along the tracks in the south, I saw evidence of many times when someone dumped at speed. I'm just glad I was never standing nearby when it happened!
