Due to heavy snow conditions during this period the line was fairly well blocked for days at a time.
When the flanger was at Cumbres on March 11 heavy snow and hard wind was reported.

Around March 9 my dad and the man working with him went from Sublette to Antonito with the motor car.
They were unable to return to Sublette until the line was open which was several days away.
Until then they worked with the Antonito section.
