This is what first class Pullman seats look like. These are in Uintah 50.
It should be pointed out that the car at the D&S (0460?) has been modified several times and the upper berths are from what is believed to be a standard gauge car. These berths are also upside down, totally wrong as a reference for the 470.
Sounds like you guys have figured out how the lower seats fold down. From the aforementioned photo and the drawing posted by Dave_A I can see a simple latch to hold up the upper berth as well as the type of hinges and location, plus some stops on the posts to hold them up when folded down.
