Having done the fireman school on the C&TS, I've always found it interesting how the K-36s on each railroad have the controls laid out in the cab.

Is this a matter of preference or necessity? For instance, the injector overflow controls are different (C&TS K36s use a lever to open/close the valve and the D&S appears to use some sort of screw type mechanism to open/close the valve).
