Re: Modern Parts for an Old Favorite (483)?

As Earl pointed out, many of the parts off of 483 are elsewhere in service, and what we are putting back on, when we can find them, are the worn out parts taken off the other locomotives. As for the headlight, we have that and keep it sequestered when we are not working on the locomotive. It is too easy to remove and would have vanished long ago if not safely stored. That said, if by chance, you come by during the Friends work session when we are there, you will get a chance to see it in action (with a 120 vac bulb in it). I have a picture of it here on my iphone from this years work session, but am not clear on how to attach it. It’s a real crowd pleaser: the tourists and train crews love to see it on.
