Another possibility:

On June 3-6 the Illini RR Club ran a 4 day trip . I don't know what engine went to Silverton, but the eastbound train out of Durango had 488 on it. On June 7 the passenger equipment deadheaded back to Durango. From Chama to Durango the engine crew was Bob Shock and Andy Payne. It is a good assumption that they took the train out of Durango east on the 6th, in which case Payne got his pic taken in the cab of 488. Perhaps that is Bob Shock on the ground with the long oiler. Although, I thought Bob wore glasses.

The Silverton started June 8. I believe I have movies of 478's first trip to Silverton.
