Yesterday was a track work day in Como.
We started the day by adding a rail length and a half to track 14 and then moving the three cars on it (D&RGW flatcar 6302, newly arrived rider gondola 9228 and C&TS rider boxcar 203) down to the end of the track and then moved on to work on track 11, adding a couple more rail lengths and placing the switch ties and setting the frog for the switch from track 10 (the current depot to roundhouse track) to track 11. I didn't get any photos of the actual work, just a couple of the results;
The south end of tracks 13 (L) and 14 (R). RGS 256 now has some companions.
The north (turntable) end of tracks 13 and 14. The extension of track 14 allowed the cars to be moved back so that locomotive No. 4 can be backed alongside the wood pile for easy fuel loading.
The newly placed frog for the track 10/11 switch. Track 11 on the left is almost to the switch.
Another good day in Como thanks to a group of hard working and dedicated volunteers.
