My interest in snowplow operations made this post particularly interesting, the photos especially. Railroad historian Jackson Thode rode this train and took numerous color slides. Duplicates of these slides were available through Al Chione during the 1970's. One of these duplicate slide sets is in the Dorman Collection and can be viewed online. Unfortunately the slides were not kept together during cataloging, so you will have to go through the color slide folders to find them all.
Thode died in 2002 at the age of 86. He worked for the D&RGW from 1936, retiring in 1978 in a fairly high management position.
