1883 was about the end of this narrow gauge. It was being converted to standard gauge to aid in the interchange of freight.

As standard gauge the line became the "Clover Leaf" and went into the Nickle Plate. It is said that the up and down profile of this line was caused by the original ng construction. In turn the up and down profile was a reason for the route's abandonment.
