Thanks for helping to clear that up. It was especially confusing for me since I had family members that worked at the La Veta Station and Fir as well. Bernice was a township from 1901-1902 where my great-grandad was a telegraph operator. It was located about 15 miles east of Ft. Garland so I’m guessing that might have been an earlier name for Fir. Some more investigation required.
