Hi All
Can anyone provide assistance with K-28 research?
I am aware that the Durango and Silverton is in possession of all the original ALCO K-28 ink-on-linen engineering drawings. For whatever reason, they have adamantly refused to preproduce, publish or grant public access to those drawings and archives. Additionally, their staff is quite rude and hostile on the telephone!!
On the other hand, the California State Railroad Museum has a major archive of original LIMA ink-on-linen drawings which are available for public research. For their stated price, they will reproduce those drawings.
I have ordered the BHI Quick Pic book and the Model Railroader Cyclopedia.
However, I am in need of more in-depth information, such as the smokebox door drawings (compressor bracket and hinge), frame, valve gear hangar, truck, ashpan/firebox, details and much more.
