Here's a nice view of the grade as we head toward Sugar Pine:

After about 5 miles we reach Summit Camp, so named as heading up from Sugar Pine, the railroad had reached the top of the ridge line. There was a logging camp here. In the photo below the mainline curves in from the left and then heads behind us towards Sugar Pine. On the right is the spur to Summit Camp:
Just the the left of the grade is what looks like the possible remains of a cistern:
Here's a close up of the rock wall on the left (south) side:
I didn't climb down to examine it any further, but don't know what it would have been besides a water cistern. Any other ideas?
