I worked for the CDOH for 14 years between 8,000 ft and 14,000 ft. When it quits snowing the rocks start moving. One time a rock landed on a car in Clear Creek Canyon, it flattened the car and killed all four adults. A baby in the back seat between the adults lived. Another rock came down near the G-Town lake dam. It bent a rental car 30 degrees and the cop radaring it said the car went from 60 mph to zero in one flash (one second). He got a cab to take him back to the airport and said he was never coming back to the mountains! I could go on and on. It wasn't unusual to have rocks so large we couldn't pick them up only shove them over the edge (there's always an edge). THAT rock probably sets some size record but I question the time line given to reopen the road. Any group of Colorado miners could "remove" the rock in short order.
