Nothing about where the locomotive and train are going from there. Probably further east to where they can turn the locomotive and return to Omaha/Council Bluffs.
The trip is a fund raiser for the UP Museum and Boone is probably a convenient distance - about 150 miles - for a train ride from Omaha/Council Bluffs. That would be two to three hours.
Google Earth aerial view of Boone shows a turntable in 2015 -- but it measures at 110 feet and the wheelbase of the 4015 and tender is 133 feet. So to turn at least the locomotive you have to go further east to a wye. -- looks like there is one at Nevada, Iowa, about 20 miles east and past Ames.
