After 476 departed Durango for Silverton, there was another first encounter --- 315 on display in Durango. Little could we have imagined then that 60 years later 315 would be slated to run from Chama to Antonito on C&TS opening 2019.
Equally improbable would have been 476 continuing to take thousands of tourists thru the spectacular canyon of the Animas river, as seen earlier this week
