So did anyone answer when the station was torn down??
I was there my only time in April 1997. I cannot recall if the depot was still there or not. I want to say it was, and I think we shot opposite of it once with a helper set there. Anyway we shot freights the final year they ran there.
Les Jarrett and I were there, and we wound up doing a video called "Tennessee Pass and the Royal Gorge route". We did several joint projects and eventually split titles up so there would be no worry as to ownership. While I got a lot of NG stuff, Les wound up with that title, and he probably has it on DVD. There is good stuff in there and I remember shooting a weed spray train with a D&RGW unit. We chased from Eagle to Minturn I believe then on east for several days.
This was all part of a month-long trip which included:
Shooting footage for our 4th and final America By Rail series "Route of the Southwest Chief", Tennessee Pass line, and over a week in Chama, as we did the Rotary in 97, the 2 days of charters, and even rode a work train to Long Creek to watch track repairs. That was an epic trip for sure.
