Last time I was there, William “Billy” Patout iii had the locomotives in storage out of the weather. He insisted on keeping them (just like his father). A future sugar museum remained one of his many ideas.
“Bessie” Porter 6458/ blt 1920 is unrestored. She lost her cab while in storage because hurricane Andrew blew down part of the (large) sugar warehouse. Butler or Witbeck said Bessie is the last steam locomotive purchased new for a Louisiana sugar plantation.
I do have a few photos, but will need to leave that for later.
