I recall seeing photos of K36's in front of #463 pretty regularly, since #463 was the one continuing on to Antonito.
These days the general rule is that the engine that people are most excited about seeing is the one that goes in front. BTW, Linn said that he found a photo of a PRR Atlantic leading an American back in the day.
