At this time 497 was using the 490's tender. 497 lost hers the wreck above Los Pinos in 1960. It must be the high, early summer, mid-day lighting they obscured 497's tender flare, as that tank had the biggest flare of them all. Looking back from the cab of 497 found you looking straight at it and having to lean out the window to see around it.
