How did the scrap leave?

When IRCA steam was sold for scrap, how did it leave the country? By boat from the Atlantic or Pacific terminal or by the connection with Mexico? By truck? Were the locomotives cut up in Guatemala? Towed dead to a port and cut up there? Any photos? My understanding was that the scrap was sold to buy arms for the turmoil going on at that time.
