476 is crossing the Los Pinos river and is heading for Tiffany.
I was taking both still pictures and movies this day, so I have no further still pictures for December 9. I will post this day's movies at a later time.
In the afternoon 493 met 476 in Chama. 493 switched out the Chama Skyline Lumber mill. As I recall, the engine pulled loads and spotted empties on this day and the next morning.
On the morning of December 10, engines 476 and 493 made a Cumbres turn with the loads from the Chama mill and a string of loaded box cars from Durango. It was easy to differentiate the flat car loads from Durango from the Chama loads, as Durango double stacked the lumber pallets, and Chama loaded a single tier.
The engines are working hard just below the old gravel road crossing (above the current paved road crossing).
Passing Hamilton Point (I will post a tree-less shot of this scene later)
