Interesting, John -
What would the diameter of the drivers have been – and hence the rigid wheelbase? Would axles 2, 3 & 4 and 7, 8 & 9 have had blind drivers, or is there not much curvature on that line?

p.s. IIRC, the civil engineer (Roy or Ray?) who refined my crude drawings and laid out the turntable and associated tracks for the Fillmore & Western several years ago had been in charge of track maintenance for a railroad in Argentina before he came to the states. Unfortunately, with the passage of a quarter century and my brain becoming increasingly fuzzy, I have forgotten both his name and the name of the railroad, but I'm pretty sure it was the railroad we are discussing here as he described some pretty hefty engines, not just little teakettles like those on the line in Patagonia.
