Beautiful Photo!

Amazing to think that these two transportation types were both invented in the 18th century, and the Hot Air Balloon preceded the steam engine.

The first untethered manned hot air balloon flight was performed by Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier and François Laurent d'Arlandes on November 21, 1783

In 1784, William Murdoch built a prototype model steam road locomotive in Scotland.
