It is a tourist operation. The Paton Country Narrow Gauge Railway is relaying for tourist operation some of the Natal 2-foot gauge line made famous in Paton's "Cry, the Beloved Country". And motive power includes this 2-foot gauge Garratt. The picture is a June 5, 2007 photo special. My first trip to South Africa was not until 1983, so I only saw one NG15 in regular service out of Port Elizabeth (or more precisely Patensie).
